- Current registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and relevant clinical experience, management experience and/or post-graduate management qualification.
- Understanding of the challenges associated with the management of nursing/midwifery resources and the demonstrated ability to prioritise and make decisions to support the delivery of effective and efficient health care.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues relating to nursing/ midwifery professional practice.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a nursing/ midwifery team within a complex multidisciplinary team environment.
- Highly developed and proven communication skills that include coaching, conflict resolution, mediation, delegation and negotiation skills and the ability to write reports of a high standard.
- Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use a variety of computer applications (e.g. word processing, Excel, databases and intranet)
- Understanding of and commitment to the effective and meaningful engagement of clinicians in the decision-making process that impacts on positive patient outcomes
