Aboriginal Health Manager - Lismore

1. This is an Identified Aboriginal/ Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such. An applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
2. Relevant tertiary qualification/s in a Health related field and/or demonstrated equivalent management experience.
3. Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and protocols along with a sound knowledge of the issues affecting the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
4. Demonstrated experience in developing, coordinating, redesigning and implementing Aboriginal health programs/ services that has a positive influence on outcomes for the Aboriginal community and meet current Commonwealth, State and Local Aboriginal health priorities.
5. Demonstrated experience in leadership, management, supervision, training and conflict resolution with the ability to consult, listen and negotiate with staff and a diverse range of people to meet organisational targets and deadlines.
6. Extensive experience in engaging with non-Aboriginal staff and other key stakeholders in developing partnerships, to work collaboratively to ensure effective health service delivery to members of the Aboriginal community.
7. Proficient written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide statistical data reports and experience in maintaining accurate data records.
8. Valid unrestricted driver’s license for use in NSW/ Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
