What you'll be doing:

The Nepean Hospitals Perinatal Ultrasound is a tertiary level referral centre for Obstetric and Gynaecological ultrasound within Nepean Hospital. A Permanent Part time opportunity is now available for a Radiographer Level 3, Grade 3 to join this amazing team.

As Senior Sonographer, your role will be required to perform Obstetric and Gynaecological ultrasound examinations whilst interacting with patients, relatives and other members of staff. As a senior member of the team you will also be involved in the teaching of students as well as participation in research projects within the Department.

A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form). 
 
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.


Selection Criteria to be addressed:

  1. Undergraduate Degree (Medical Radiation Science for appointment as a Medical Radiation Scientist) and Post Graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound as recognised by ASAR.
  2. Registration with ASAR
  3. Demonstrated high standard of knowledge, clinical experience in obstetric ultrasound across a range of examinations.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Demonstrated ability to supervise, instruct and trainee sonographers and medical staff.
  6. Demonstrated well-developed problem-solving skills.
  7. Evidence of participation in a continuing Professional Development (CPD) program.
  8. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
