Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital is an acute hospital that supports a population of approximately 80,000 and is the only ANZAC Memorial hospital remaining in NSW. Easily accessible to Sydney residents, our team of clinicians, allied health, and support staff works with the community on a shared goal to maintain the delivery of high-quality healthcare in the Blue Mountains region.

An exciting opportunity is now available for an Occupational Therapist level 1/2 on a permanent part time basis, working 24 hours per week. This position is based at the Blue Mountains District Anzac Memorial Hospital and also services the Springwood Hospital.

The role of Occupational Therapist will see you pro
vide a high quality consumer focused therapy service to patients and their families and carers to optimse health outcomes for the patients. The role is primarily an inpatient one, servicing patients in acute medical and rehabilitation wards. The occupational therapy role at both hospitals requires a clinician who can problem solve and think laterally about complex patient situations, whilst working closely with families/carers and the multidisciplinary team to plan safe and timely discharges. The occupational therapist is well supported to achieve this outcome by a team that is experienced, innovative and welcoming.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Current registration to practice as an occupational therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board, AHPRA
  2. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
  3. Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills and an ability to quickly develop and maintain constructive relationships with consumers, colleagues and external agencies.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team and manage a clinical caseload and clinical matters with minimal supervision.
  5. Demonstrated clinical experience in occupational therapy practice, particularly the provision of assessment and intervention services/skill sets required for an acute, hospital based service.
  6. High level of organisational and time management skills and an ability to identify and make clinically sound decisions around priorities.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to continual service improvement and personal/professional development and an ability to reflect on and respond to constructive feedback.
  8. Demonstrated proficiency in a range of documentation and report writing styles and the ability to adapt styles according the reader.
