  1. Possess registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Possess Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1997 and Staff Specialists (State) Award.
  3. Sound clinical knowledge in Intensive Care Medicine demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including: high level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team; evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty; and relevant qualifications and/or appropriate post-Fellowship clinical experience.
  4. Possess (or in process of obtaining) an advanced echocardiography qualification to enable formal transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography performance and reporting.
  5. Demonstrate a passion for teaching in the areas of Intensive Care Medicine and echocardiography (both basic and advanced).
  6. Demonstrated considerable commitment to junior medical staff supervision (eg: consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards) with a view to helping supervise/manage the non-ICU trainees within the department (ie: training, well-being, mentoring, rostering etc…
  7. Familiarity with quality assurance & improvement concepts as required within the Department.

Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and Staff Specialists (State) Award.
