Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioner for the above position (s) in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be located at Nepean Hospital within the Department of Anaesthetics and Pain Management.
Successful applicants will provide The VMO in Pain Medicine will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients under the care of the Nepean Pain Management Centre. The successful Applicant (s) will be committed, caring Specialist Pain Medicine Physicians with excellent communication and team working skills with the capacity to contribute to an interdisciplinary team in order to provide innovative high-quality care.
Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

Selection Criteria
1. Possess or be eligible for registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Possess Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine ANZCA (FFPMANZCA) and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1997 and Public Hospital (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination, and Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
3. Sound clinical knowledge in Pain Medicine demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
4. High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within an interdisciplinary pain management team.
5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
6. Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.
7. Sound clinical knowledge in the subspecialty of Pain Medicine demonstrated by relevant qualifications and/or appropriate post-Fellowship clinical experience.
8. Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research as required within the Department.
