About Us
The Nepean Blue Mountains Health District offers a wide range of Medical Imaging (Radiology), Nuclear Medicine, and Nuclear Medical Therapy procedures through our various facilities/services with a goal to help diagnose, assess, and treat patient's injury or disease.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Radiation Scientist (MRS) to join our team and provide a high-quality medical imaging service across a range of clinical areas.
As a Medical Radiation Scientist, you will be personally accountable for your work and professional conduct, in accordance with the Guidelines for Professional Conduct for Radiographers and Radiation Therapists. You will demonstrate the ability to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging using complex clinical procedures and deliver radiographic examinations across various imaging modalities. Your work will follow established radiographic protocols, prioritising patient safety and comfort, and ensuring the correct use of radiographic markers.

What you will bring to the role
- Degree in Medical Radiation Science and current registration with APHRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner (Diagnostic Radiography)
- Current I14 Radiation Licence from NSW EPA
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in a hospital environment including areas such as General, Mobiles, Theatre, Trauma Radiography and some exposure to CT
- Demonstrated understanding of WH&S and infection control in a radiology context
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and manage time effectively in a clinical environment
