About Us

The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Drug and Alcohol Service offers free, non-judgemental services and treatments for drug and/or alcohol use, including information and support for families. Our service offers specialist drug and alcohol doctors, nurses and allied health staff who respect the client's right to choose from a range of treatments offered with our services underpinned by a philosophy of harm reduction
The new Lifespan Clinics is a new service designed to address the impact of substance misuse and dependency through the lens of chronicity. The District's Drug & Alcohol unit is seeking to establish a suite of clinics dedicated to better diagnosing and treatment of the health outcomes known to be associated with methamphetamine across the entirety of the lifespan.
The successful incumbent will promote an integral person-centered care model which advocates for effective and efficient care focusing on the unique physical, mental and social needs of the individual. This aims to foster a collaborative partnership between clients/carers, service providers and their community providers who are at risk of deteriorating health that may result in declining quality in life and an acute hospital presentation and/or admission. Provide expert clinical advice to clients, carers, and other health care professionals within NBMLHD. They use a flexible and adaptive approach to client care within a changing health system and supports clients to coordinate and navigate across health social care system and to connect with other community and hospital-based services as required.

What you will bring to the role
1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
2. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and proven problem-solving ability within a clinical setting
