About this role:


Are you passionate about policy and want to make a difference for individuals, families and communities within the health space? We are looking for a high performing Senior Policy Officer with experience in policy development, framework evaluation and strong project management skills to join the Strategic Policy Unit within the Office of the Chief Health Officer at the Ministry of Health.

 
Where you'll be working:


The Office of the Chief Health Officer is currently located in St Leonards. The Ministry of Health is currently undergoing a major transition introducing a more contemporary working model, ahead of a move to a new purpose built campus, also in St Leonards, in 2020-21. The Branch is busy and dynamic, with flexible working arrangements and support for robust professional development.


What you'll be doing:


The primary purpose of this role is to lead and undertake policy and program development, review and evaluate projects for NSW Health and to address current and emerging issues across state-wide polices.  The Senior Policy Officer prepares high quality written advice in the form of reports, briefs, guidelines and discussion papers to inform, respond and drive policy change.  This role also provides advice and support to the Manager, Strategic Policy Unit, and Senior Executives including the Chief Health Officer.  The Strategic Policy Unit works closely with the Ministry of Health’s Legal & Regulatory Services, Local Health Districts and Speciality Health Networks.
