Senior Policy Officer, Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement

Expressions of interest are being sought from NSW Government staff wishing to apply for this 11-month opportunity. To be eligible to apply for this role, you must be a permanent/ongoing employee or a temporary employee with at least 12 months consecutive service.

About Us
We are looking for a high performing Senior Policy Officer to join the Perinatal Child and Youth Mental Health Team, Mental Health Branch, NSW Ministry of Health.
The Mental Health Branch is responsible for developing, managing and coordinating NSW Ministry of Health policy, strategy and program funding relating to mental health. The Branch also supports the maintenance of the mental health legislative framework.
The work of the Mental Health Branch is delivered mainly through mental health programs in partnership with local health districts and specialty health networks, community managed organisations, research institutions and other partner departments.
About this role
The role involves managing and developing mental health policies and programs for the NSW Health Service, Ministry of Health, and related government agencies, specifically focusing on perinatal, child and youth mental health. It includes overseeing projects, engaging directly with Local Health Districts, Specialty Health Networks and other stakeholders to ensure innovative program design and implementation.
The role provides expert advice to senior executives and staff to ensure consistent policy application, prepares high-quality reports and briefs, and facilitates communication with key stakeholders including consumers and young people. Additionally, the role leads research efforts to address policy issues, evaluate new approaches, and support change management initiatives.
Crown Clerk Grade 9/10, salary from $125,693 - $138,510 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing
This exciting opportunity will manage the development, implementation and evaluation of best practice policies, programs, and activities for the Ministry of Health, public health organisations, and related government agencies. This aims to support NSW Health to achieve their objectives in optimising mental health care and treatment for priority populations including infant, children adolescents and youth aged 0–25 years, their families and kinship groups.
The role will also coordinate Statewide advisory committees and groups to secure their engagement and ensure effective interface on policy and program development, planning and implementation.
