Targeted Questions (1-2 pages)

If you do not include responses to the below questions your application will not be considered.

  1. Working in a legal role in a government sector organisation requires being able to give legal advice that is understood and appropriately implemented in an often complex regulatory environment.  Describe an example where you have had to give advice in a complex legal matter.  What challenges were there in drafting or communicating the advice?  What legal and non-legal risks were you seeking to address?  How did you know it was understood and appropriately acted upon?
  2. Describe a time when you worked as a lawyer in a project or other matter that involved being the legal team member in a collaborative effort with non-lawyers to achieve a joint outcome.  How did you contribute to the outcome and what challenges did you encounter?  How did you manage relationships, and were there any specific negotiation or problem solving skills you feel this experience demonstrates?  What do you think you learned from the experience?
