179,457 – $181,744 pa - (plus 9.5% superannuation and annual leave loading)

Background:

 

The Health Professional Councils Authority (HPCA) is an executive agency of the NSW Ministry of Health.  We play an important role in protecting the health and safety of the public by supporting the 15 NSW Health Professional Councils in managing complaints about NSW health practitioners.

What you'll be doing:


The Executive Officer provides a range of high level executive, secretariat, and project support services to the Council including providing strategic advice, managing communications and implementing strategies to support the achievement of the Council and HPCA strategic and operational objectives. 
This role has oversight of case administration and strategic management for the Nursing and Midwifery Council, relating to health practitioners’ conduct, performance and health to ensure consistent application of Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (NSW). The Executive Officer ensures that the NSW Health Professional Council’s regulatory mandate to protect the public is delivered through the efficient and effective management of complaints made in relation to health practitioners in NSW.

To be successful:


You must have sound experience in managing a team and demonstrate success in achieving operational performance measures. We are looking for individuals with excellent organisational skills in projects and programs and experience in harnessing people, processes and technology to deliver measurable results.

We are also looking for candidates with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will need to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with the Council, regulatory and professional staff across the HPCA, a range of external stakeholders, and service providers. You will be committed to drive knowledge sharing and continuous improvements in this critical area of health regulation.


Essential Requirements:


1.   Registration with Nursing and Midwife Board of Australia as a registered nurse or midwife

2.   Proven capacity to make appropriate decisions and manage complex programs in a regulatory or  other professional environment
