Executive Director, Northern (Metro) Region, Health Infrastructure
Executive Band 2
Term up to five years

  • Executive role in a progressive organisation that works in partnership with NSW Health stakeholders to enable the delivery of life-changing healthcare solutions for the people of NSW.
  • You will provide strategic direction and leadership for the delivery of a circa $4 billion portfolio of major and/or complex health infrastructure investments across the whole project lifecycle.

HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE
 
Established in 2007, Health Infrastructure's success has been achieved by working in partnership with its stakeholders to deliver sustainable and innovative infrastructure solutions to meet the healthcare needs of NSW communities. Currently, the organisation is responsible for the planning and delivery of in excess of $14 billion in capital works on behalf of the NSW Government as well as supporting the development of asset management capability and systems across the NSW Health system.
 
Role Outline
 
The Executive Director for the Northern (Metro) Region is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and provides strategic leadership and management for the implementation of a portfolio of major / complex health infrastructure investments across the whole project lifecycle.
 
The role has a particular focus on the Northern (Metro) region of Health Infrastructure's portfolio, covering South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (LHD), Sydney Children’s Hospital Network, Sydney LHD, Northern Sydney LHD and Central Coast LHD.

Applying for this Role

You are required to submit a resume of no more than three pages, a cover letter which clearly addresses the essential requirement below and includes your response to the two targeted questions below (maximum 500 words).

  1. Please provide an example of a time you have led a portfolio of major capital projects across the project lifecycle with an integrated approach to working with Executive teams and high levels of stakeholders. Please cover in your response the background to the example, details of the stakeholders involved, timeline, budget and the key outcomes achieved.
  2. Taking into consideration your response to target question one, please provide a response to how you believe the experience you gained would apply within the NSW Health Infrastructure environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Exemplary leadership skills and evidence of leading teams in a highly collaborative working environment. Ability and desire to foster positive organisational culture.
  • Tertiary qualification in Construction, Engineering, Project Management or related discipline and/or demonstrated senior level experience in a comparable role.
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in the management of portfolio of major / complex capital investments across the whole project lifecycle, including a demonstrated track record of being responsible for delivering a suite of projects safely, to a high standard of quality and compliance, on time and on budget.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, negotiation and management of commercial contracts for the procurement of major capital works.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the specific requirements and nuances of health capital projects. Or alternatively, an understanding of project planning and delivery processes within a comparable sector.

This is a fulltime fixed term (up to five years), Band 2, Health Service Senior Executive (HSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $272,677 to $306,414 per annum (SOORT 2018), with annual performance reviews will be negotiated with the successful applicant
