The Clinical Operations Directorate is the largest portfolio within NSW Ambulance, playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality care and operational excellence across the state.

About this role

The Executive Director Clinical Operations leads and directs the management of operational services within NSW Ambulance, with a particular focus on alignment of operational service delivery strategy with the organisation’s goals, evaluation of outcomes and performance, and the identification and evaluation of opportunities to improve operational effectiveness and the delivery of high quality, safe out-of-hospital health care services for patients.

This is an ongoing, full time, Band 2, Health/Public Service Senior Executive (HSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $307,820 to $343,974 per annum, with annual performance reviews, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can demonstrate the following attributes:

* Provide strategic leadership and guidance to a diversified workforce to ensure the delivery of safe, quality and consistent services, initiatives and programs in accordance with NSW Ambulance’s strategic direction
* Identify the needs and priorities for NSW Ambulance over short- and long-term periods through the preparation of statewide operational plans and budgets and lead their implementation
* Provide strategic and visionary leadership for the ongoing development, planning and implementation of change management initiatives to ensure that NSW Ambulance supports a world best practice patient journey by providing efficient and effective services in response to requests for ambulance services
* Drive the overall performance of the clinical operational plans, directorate programs and services by implementing agreed performance goals, standards, and measures at a whole of service operations level to form the basis for evaluation of effectiveness and identify appropriate performance goals, benchmarks and patient satisfaction measures to support a high-performance culture
* Lead and direct the process of organisational and system changes across the portfolio to foster an environment of continuous improvement and the provision of safe, quality services to the community
* Develop and establish operating procedures consistent with public sector wide policies and objectives and facilitate their satisfactory execution 
* Lead the development of effective emergency management planning to enable NSW Ambulance to meet legislative requirements in accordance with the State and Ministry of Health disaster plans and act as the primary escalation point for urgent, complex or highly sensitive operational issues, determining appropriate responses and the need for further escalation
* Ensure a positive workplace culture where bullying, harassment and inappropriate workplace behaviors are not tolerated
