The Director, Child and Family Health provides professional and organisational leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic policy frameworks and responses which enable the achievement of NSW Health’s planned outcomes, and alignment with broader Government objectives.


The role of the Director is to shape and lead NSW Health’s policy response on child and family health recognising the integral role of interagency collaboration in delivering outcomes. The role is responsible for providing strategic leadership on services, policies and models for children and their parents/carers with a focus on children aged 0 to 5 years within the community.


This is an ongoing, full time, Band 1, Public Service senior executive (PSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $217,997 to $242,100 per annum will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

About You

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated relevant, professional experience in leading and developing policy and or service delivery in the area of child and family health.
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of interagency collaborative policy initiatives in a health environment (or similar industry).
  • Well-developed leadership skills, a strategic orientation and substantial management experience at a senior level.
