About this role

You'll be joining the largest public health system in Australia and contribute to a world-class health system in NSW.


We are excited to welcome an experienced Communications Officer to join our dynamic and results-driven team, committed to championing inclusive communication. You will play a crucial role in supporting communications, campaigns and marketing teams within the Strategic Communications and Engagement Branch (SCE) and more broadly across NSW Health to support an inclusive approach to communications. Additionally, this role involves, managing relationships with cross-agency service suppliers, external stakeholders, and the development of engagement resources tailored for Aboriginal communities.


Crown Clerk 7/8, starting salary from $106,025 - $117,363 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing

As a dedicated Communications Officer, you will:

  • Ensure the delivery of accessible content through the use of policy, guidelines, and toolkits, along with collaborating with external suppliers.
  • Monitor and report on the uptake of accessible communication tools and channels targeting identified audiences to support health objectives.
  • Prioritise communication activities and provide support in their successful delivery.
  • Facilitate approvals of content, creative ideas, and messaging from internal stakeholders.
  • Engage service suppliers and stakeholders, including Aboriginal people and communities, across NSW Health and all of NSW Government, to promote accessible health messaging and content, ensuring a whole-of-NSW Health approach in achieving NSW Government objectives.


About you 

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: 

  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Experience in working with Aboriginal stakeholders in delivering culturally appropriate and effective communications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to delivering best practice accessible communications and
  • The ability to work in a small dynamic team environment balancing changing priorities
