The Senior Project Officer will work within the AOD Strategic Projects Team. The Strategic Projects team is managing key elements of the Government response to the Special Commission of Inquiry into the drug ice (Ice Inquiry). The Senior Project Officer manages and coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of new and expanded AOD programs as well as programs and initiatives with a strategic focus. This includes:
- Measures to improve service access and navigation
- Development and implementation of initiatives to enhance system integration
- Engagement with partners to build Aboriginal AOD workforce capacity, including attraction and retention initiatives
- Statewide oversight of new programs and services such as the AOD Hubs, Post Custodial Support and AOD Family, Carer and Friends.
Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $120,859- $ 133,183 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing
- Co-ordinate and implement the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of AOD strategic projects and initiatives in line with the strategic priorities of the CAOD
- Develop and implement systems to ensure effective co-ordination of strategic projects to ensure they are evidence-based, person-centred, safe, high quality and effective.
- Undertake projects using sound project management methodologies to manage people and resources through all stages of a project and policy cycle (planning, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation)
- Liaise, communicate and consult with key staff in the Ministry, CAOD senior executives and staff across NSW Health to provide information on current and emerging issues related to strategic projects
- Prepare high quality written reports, business cases, briefs, correspondence, and cabinet documents to inform or respond to agency, media or Government requests, or initiate consideration of new program initiatives.
- Manage relationships with consumers and key stakeholders within NSW Health, other government and non- government organisations to facilitate the delivery of effective, safe and high-quality treatment services, and represent CAOD in internal and external committees

- Demonstrated understanding of key challenges facing the health workforce, and AOD services in particular.
