This is a unique opportunity to join a team to engage with the mental health community – consumers, families and carers, local health districts and specialty health networks, other government agencies, and the non-government and community managed sector – on areas including:

Role 1
Community Engagement and Collaborative Commissioning Team
Full Time, Ongoing 

  • Wellbeing and crisis support
  • Collaborative commissioning and grant management
  • Rural mental health partnerships
  • Disaster recovery.

Role 2
Community Living Programs Team
Full Time, Ongoing 

  • Program management, policy development and stakeholder engagement for the highly visible, state-wide community living programs including Housing and Accommodation Initiative, Community Living Supports, Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative Plus, Mental Health Community Living Supports for Refugees
  • Grant tendering and management for the community living programs
  • Whole of Government housing and homelessness policies.

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Senior Policy Officers to join the Mental Health Branch to work in these dynamic portfolios

Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $125,693- $138,510 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing 

  • Developing partnerships with peak bodies and community managed organisations in the mental health sector
  • Managing grants and programs, including program design, approval, implementation, evaluation and review
  • Contributing to the development of mental health policy and projects, in order to achieve Ministry and government objectives.
  • Writing briefs, discussion papers, circulars, communication plans, media releases, policies and reports to senior executives and Ministers.

 

About you

  • We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
  • Substantial experience in the provision of policy advice in a complex and multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of policies and legislation impacting on mental health and human services policy and reform
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in undertaking all stages of the policy cycle (development, implementation and review).
