About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the District Director, People and Culture will lead all aspects of HR strategy and workforce services across MNCLHD. This pivotal role is responsible for:
- Workforce Strategy & Planning – Develop and implement innovative people strategies that support 5,000 staff and align with Future Health statewide initiatives.
- Organisational Development & Culture – Lead and foster a culture of excellence across the LHD, driving transformational change and strategic organisational development.
- HR Leadership & Compliance – Overseeing industrial relations, HR policy, and workforce reforms.
- Staff Wellbeing & Safety – Spearhead cultural transformation initiatives that elevate staff engagement, wellbeing, and organisational performance.
- Cultivate an inclusive, transparent, and collaborative work environment that empowers staff and enables high performance – Providing expert HR advice to the Chief Executive and senior leadership team
With five direct reports and oversight of a 65-member workforce, this role plays a crucial role in shaping a workforce that supports MNCLHD’s mission to deliver high-quality healthcare services.
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience
- Extensive senior leadership experience in workforce strategy, organisational development, and HR service delivery
- In-depth knowledge of public sector employment legislation and regulatory frameworks, particularly in health services
- Proven ability to drive cultural change and foster a high-performing, inclusive workforce
- Strong experience in stakeholder management, including working with executive teams, unions, and external partners
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to anticipate workforce challenges and implement effective HR solutions
- Demonstrated experience in talent management, workforce planning, and industrial relations

- A citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia
