What you'll be doing
To form care partnerships with residents and their families that enable a mutual relationship of trust and respect. To be fully engaged in a model of care based on wellbeing and human growth. To identify residents that may be experiencing loneliness helplessness and boredom and co-design individual solutions in consultation with others.

  1. Significant Relevant Recreational Activities Officer experience in a HealthCare facility
  2. Demonstrated high level verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with residents requiring emotional and /or memory support.
  3. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
  4. Knowledge of the ageing process and experience in the care of a person with dementia.
  5. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing goal oriented group and individual leisure programs for clients with complex needs
  6. Willingness to participate in new models of person centred elder care that focus on well-being, choice and autonomy of individuals and their families.
