What you'll be doing

Mid North Coast Local Health District has a temporary opportunity for a Full Time Staff Specialist Radiation Oncologist to join the team. As the successful applicant you will provide specialist radiation oncology services for optimal patient outcomes, and to support our team of radiation oncologists when they are on leave or offsite, including supervision of trainee registrars and junior doctors.  



This is a Category A position. Recommended applicants will be reviewed for compliance with NSW Health policy directive for Category A positions prior to offer.

Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s.  These awards are available at

Selection Criteria 

  1. Registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Radiation Oncologist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathway.
  2. Demonstrated experience relevant to Radiation Oncology and evidence of competence in contemporary skills, including knowledge relating to 3D CT-contouring and the use of IMRT, VMAT and SBRT/SABR, relevant to a regional centre hospital practice.
  3. Excellent communication and liaison skills, fostering positive and productive working relationships between team members and with other disciplines.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to training and supervision of registrars and commitment to continuing medical education relevant to Radiation Oncology including teaching of medical students, JMOs, Nursing Staff, and other staff as required and an ongoing commitment to research.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to clinical quality improvement, accreditation requirements, research, and peer review.
  6. Demonstrated experience and interest in the multidisciplinary management of gynaecological and breast malignancies
