What you'll be doing
- The primary purpose of MNC Virtual Care is to reduce low acuity ED presentations, reduce preventable admissions and facilitate early hospital discharge.
- Provide effective and safe medical services within a virtual care framework.
- Provide education, supervision and support to junior medical staff, paramedics and nursing staff.
- Formulate and follow protocols to guide expansion of virtual care medical service.
- Liaise with NSW Ambulance and the Emergency Departments of the MNCLHD for patients referred to the service.
- Provide discharge summaries to Primary GPs at the time of discharge from the service.
- Remain to up to date with best medical practice, specifically as regards Virtual Care medicine.
- Remain up to date with MNC Virtual pathways and directives.
This is a Category A position. Recommended applicants will be reviewed for compliance with NSW Health policy directive for Category A positions prior to offer.

Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s. These awards are available at https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/careers/conditions/pages/default.aspx.

Selection Criteria
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Practitioner. and/or overseas trained specialist pathway.
- Demonstrated clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health service colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team and to work an effective member of the clinical team across sites within the MNCLHD.
- Highly developed proactive problem-solving skills and willingness to navigate logistics required for complex care provision within the hybrid virtual care / telehealth context with case management.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster.
- Current NSW driver's licence and willingness to drive for work purposes.
