About Your Role

MLHD New Street Service is a NSW Health child protection initiative and part of a developing network of services delivered by Local Health Districts in New South Wales. It provides counselling intervention to families of children and young people (10 - 17 years) who have sexually harmed.
The role of the New Street clinician is specialised and complex, with the focus of intervention being to support the child or young person to address their harmful sexual behaviours through goals that target safety, well-being and restitution.   Family work is a key component of intervention and provided through a co-counselling model of practice.
