  1. Minimum Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification with subjects relevant to biological/environmental studies from a recognised tertiary institution relevant to the field of Microbiology
  2. Demonstrated experience working in an accredited laboratory or relevant environment, including understanding and practical knowledge of relevant laboratory instrumentation operation and maintenance
  3. Sound computer literacy skills including Microsoft Office applications and ability to use Laboratory Information Systems or equivalent systems
  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment while working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes
  5. Well-developed interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients as well as other staff
  6. Display initiative, problem solving and analytical skills including an ability to apply established principles and investigate and resolve general and complex issues within the laboratory environment
  7. Commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement with knowledge of accreditation framework and relevant standards
  8. Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases

This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand NSW Health Policy Directive PD2018_009 Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Diseases. All new recruits must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. New recruits must provide evidence against specified diseases and comply with the requirements of this policy at their own cost prior to appointment.

This position is a permanent position. To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.
