To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.
  1. Relevant qualification in Bachelor of Social Work which provides eligibility for membership to Australian Association of Social Workers or Degree in Psychology with full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  2. Demonstrated ability to provide advanced knowledge and skills in counselling services to individuals, and families in the context of child sexual assault, trauma, violence and abuse.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in managing intergenerational trauma, child sexual abuse and the principles of family focussed intervention, with the ability to engage with young people who have sexually harmed and with their families, including Aboriginal children and families.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of the legal and policy framework governing child protection in NSW.
  5. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  7. Accreditation or willingness to undertake accreditation with the Child Sex Offender Counsellor Accreditation Scheme administered by the NSW Children's Guardian, and maintain this.
  8. Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment and willingness to travel in the course of employment, including overnight stays as required.
