  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent healthcare work experience in a senior role, including management of patient safety principles.

  2. Demonstrated high level knowledge of the principles of clinical governance, NSW Health patient safety policies and programs and continuous quality improvement.

  3. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple issues concurrently and the capacity to critically analyse complex material, evaluate clinical services and make sound recommendations.

  4. Demonstrated experience in conducting case reviews and/or involvement with previous Root Cause Analysis (RCA, now referred as Serious Adverse Event Reviews – SAERS).

  5. Demonstrated superior written and oral communication skills with experience in analysing data and ability to produce briefs, comprehensive reports, including preparation of reports to governing bodies and/or senior management, correspondence, presentations and committee support using software programs.

  6. Demonstrated time management and organisational skills, showing appropriate initiative, meeting deadlines and working with minimal supervision.

  7. Demonstrated experience with the management of staff/small project teams that inspire positive interactions in the workplace, in alignment with NSW Health CORE values.
