Selection Criteria

  1. Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent (NB applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW) and have established links with their local Aboriginal community.
  2. Please list your experience/qualifications in relation to the essential requirements as set out in the Position Description
  3. Demonstrated ability to liaise, proactively engage and work collaboratively with vulnerable communities and relevant agencies in ensuring culturally responsive services.
  4. Effective interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and personal resilience.
  5. Ability and willingness to undertake training in palliative care, advance care planning and grief and loss. This may include the need to travel to attend workshops and courses.
  6. Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team and effectively communicate and collaborate with others, including Aboriginal people and communities.
  7. Demonstrated capacity to plan, develop, deliver, document and evaluate health promotion and education initiatives and the ability to use computer programs, as required within this process (including capacity to learn relevant programs, including those for patient records and data reporting).
  8. Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
