- Four-year degree in Social Work or degree in Psychology. Eligibility for membership of AASW or registration as a Psychologist with full registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated ability to provide counselling services to individuals, and families in the context of child sexual assault, trauma, violence and abuse.
- Understanding of intergenerational trauma, child sexual abuse and the principles of family focussed intervention, with the ability to engage with young people who have sexually harmed and with their families, including Aboriginal children and families.
- Demonstrated understanding of the legal and policy framework governing child protection in NSW.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Accreditation or willingness to undertake accreditation with the Child Sex Offender Counsellor Accreditation Scheme administered by the NSW Children’s Guardian, and maintain this.
- Valid unrestricted drivers licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment, including overnight stays as required.
