Selection Criteria:
  1. Healthcare professional with extensive and relevant emergency or disaster management experience.
  2. Evidence of developing and implementing relevant Disaster Management training as well as developing, reviewing and maintaining a Disaster plan for a large health organisation.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Ministry of Health emergency/disaster policy directives, guidelines and plans with an understanding of risk management principles and their application to a public health setting of the NSW DISPLAN, NSW Health plan and the Mental Health plan and functional responsibilities of health services in a disaster response.
  4. Demonstrated ability to guide, inform and educate internal stakeholders on disaster and emergency management
  5. Proven conceptual, analytical, problem solving and planning skills and the ability to apply them in the development of policy and implementation of strategies related to disaster coordination and response.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in risk management and risk mitigation.
  7. Highly developed written communication skills, with excellent verbal skill that facilitate successful negotiation with internal and external stakeholders
  8. Current driver’s licence and the ability to travel around the WSLHD and state as required.
