Drug & Alcohol Counsellor

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant health or related field, or demonstrated sound work experience in drug and alcohol or welfare.
- Demonstrated understanding of psychosocial interventions relating to drug and alcohol and their application.
- Demonstrated ability to provide evidence-based: assessment, intervention, individual/group counselling, case management, case review practices and referral services for alcohol and other drug affected clients and their support people accessing treatment services in a public health setting.
- Proven ability to function effectively in a member of a multidisciplinary team environment and to work in a professional manner unsupervised.
- Demonstrated effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, with ability to liaise and network with a range of services.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a computerised environment and knowledge of electronic information systems.
- Current licence to drive in NSW with the ability to drive for work purposes, including occasional overnight stays if required.
