About the Opportunity

We're seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 - Infection Control to be a vital leader in our commitment to providing exceptional care. In this crucial role, you'll leverage your advanced clinical skills and extended autonomy to deliver safe, compassionate, and person-centered specialist care, with a strong focus on minimizing infection risks.

You will play a key role in developing, implementing, and evaluating infection control strategies and guidelines across our healthcare setting. Collaborating closely with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team, you'll work to achieve identified goals and optimal outcomes, ensuring a safe environment for everyone. Your expert communication skills will be essential in educating staff, patients, and families on infection prevention practices.

What You'll be Doing

The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centred specialist care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of the employees specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
  2. Demonstrated experience and skills in providing complex care in the relevant field.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidenced based nursing care.
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
