Clinical Nurse Consultant- Diabetes

• A registered nurse who has a minimum of 5 years full time post graduate experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the speciality field. In addition the applicant must have an approved post graduate qualification relevant to the speciality and hold a Masters (pertaining to speciality field) or is willing to enrol and commence a Masters in the relevant speciality field within two years of the appointment.
• Substantial experience in diabetes education/management for the Type 1, Type 2 and GDM patients, as well as extensive experience in managing patients with Continuous Glucose Monitoring and Continuous Subcutaneous Insulin Infusion.
• Demonstrated experience with research activities, developing and implementing education programmes, with extensive experience in delivering both group and individual diabetes education.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and an understanding of the practice development framework.
• Demonstrated ability to undertake quality improvement and research activities that influence and enhance clinical practice and implement change.
