Clinical Coder Trainee- Prince of Wales Hospital

Selection Criteria: 

1. Completion of a relevant Clinical Coding course (ICD 10 AM) as an entry level coder.
2. Pre requisite proficiency in medical terminology
3. Demonstrated strong analytical skills and proven attention to detail
4. Demonstrated experience in using computerised systems and Microsoft software
5. Excellent communication skills including accurate spelling, good comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels
6. Good organisational skills including the ability to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner for coding timelines including management of competing priorities.
7. Capacity to work independently under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team
8. Willingness to participate in ongoing education and contribute to group discussions where required.
