Selection Criteria:
- Have or be willing to obtain a Certificate III in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
- A demonstrated knowledge of the Aboriginal concept of social and emotional wellbeing including and understanding of Aboriginal family structure and Aboriginal culture and wisdom. This will include an understanding regarding the practical and emotional issues that may arise when working with Aboriginal individuals with mental health concerns and their families.
- Demonstrated understanding of the social, psychological and financial implications of hospitalisation for Aboriginal consumers.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles and application of child protection guidelines within NSW Health.
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, working within scope of role at all times including ability to plan and prioritise own workload.
- Possess effective written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competency in the use of computer based administration systems
- Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
