To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.
- Experience as a wards person or hospital assistant in a healthcare setting, or in other patient care environment, assisting and supporting the provisions of care.
- Demonstrated experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team environment and the ability to organize and prioritize work demands within required time frames.
- Availability and capacity to participate in a 24 hour/seven day rotating roster which includes working all shifts, all days of the week including public holidays.
- Demonstrated knowledge of hygiene and infection prevention and control principles.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, patients and members of the public.
- Must be able to read, write and understand English effectively and relay messages as required for position.
- Must have high understanding of manual handling skills and demonstrated experience in this area. Sound knowledge and practical application/commitment to understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles.
