Selection Criteria to be addressed:
- Bachelor degree as a Social Worker, Sexual Assault Worker or Welfare Officer, or degree in Psychology with professional membership/registration with respective professional associations/Boards
- Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills
- For Health Professional classifications - knowledge of child protection legislation, awareness of the impact of sexual abuse and other forms of trauma and abuse on children, young people and their families (Level 1) or minimum 3 years’ clinical experience working with sexual assault or child protection clients/issues with demonstrated knowledge of same (Level 2)
- Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics and effects of sexual assault and best practice models for working with children, young people and adults who have experienced abuse and/or trauma
- Demonstrated assessment, case management and counselling skills with children, young people and adults
- Experience in, or commitment to, working with individuals and families from indigenous backgrounds and/or diverse cultural backgrounds
- Experience in the development and maintenance of interagency partnerships
- Current Driver’s License and willingness to travel across the Local Health District
