Selection Criteria

  1. Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Agency. Meet all requirements as a Staff Specialist in accordance with the Staff Specialists (State) Award.  A Fellowship recognised by Australasian Medical Colleges.
  2. Extensive clinical and operational management experience at the senior management and/or executive level within a complex health care environment, including strategic planning and the development/implementation of business operational plans.
  3. Strong relationship building capabilities and influencing skills with the ability to communicate, motivate, consult, and negotiate with senior executives and diverse stakeholder groups.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
  6. Demonstrated highly developed conceptual, analytical, innovative problem-solving and planning skills, with the ability to apply these to manage conflicting priorities and develop successful recommendations and advice on policies, strategies and solutions across complex areas.
