Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Manning Hospital
Taree, NSW, Australia
Permanent full time/ permanent part time (2.0FTE available)
Salary $234,556 p.a.

Manning Hospital is looking for committed clinicians to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team. Applicants must hold a medical degree registrable with AHPRA and hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). Applicants expecting to be elected to Fellowship in the coming months may be considered.

The position involves:
• Both inpatient and outpatient services
• Participating in the Obstetric on-call roster
• Participation in Manning Hospital’s active training program in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
• Participation in quality improvement activities and Peer Review

About the Hospital:
Manning Hospital has 160 beds (including 20 Mental Health beds) and provides a broad range of specialist services including Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care Medicine, Anaesthesia, General, Urology and Orthopaedics Surgery, Internal Medicine, Renal and Oncology services.

About the area:
Taree is located in the Manning Valley on the Lower Mid North Coast of New South Wales, just 3 hours north of Sydney, 2 hours north of Newcastle and 1 hour south of Port Macquarie.  The hospital serves a population of around 100,000 people encompassing an area of 3,732 km2.
The Manning Valley is home to a range of some of the best beaches in Australia. The area is surrounded by magnificent national parks.

  1. 1. Medical degree registrable in New South Wales. FRANZCOG and/or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award or the Health Insurance Act of 1973. Applicants expecting to be elected to Fellowship in the coming months may be considered.
    2. Demonstrated ability to provide specialist standard clinical O&G service for elective and emergency cases, including outpatient clinics as well as participate in the on call roster.

    3. Demonstrated commitment to practising evidence based medicine.

    4. Demonstrated enthusiasm for delivering highly reliable patient care with a focus on patient safety including participation in quality assurance activities and research programs.

    5. Demonstrated ability to work within a range of models of maternity care provision collegiately in multidisciplinary teams, recognising the skills and contributions of all team members.
