Selection Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualification as a Speech Pathologist and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
  2. Advanced clinical knowledge and postgraduate experience and skills in paediatrics, including demonstrated ability in the assessment and management of clients of a complex and specialised nature, including Learning Disabilities, Developmental Delay and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
  3. Demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary team, organising case conferences and case management, and recommending therapy management plans.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and time management.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary setting and to organise individual workloads to meet deadlines, commitments and standards of performance.
  6. Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process and supervising staff and/or Speech Pathologists.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to EBP and experience in implementing EBP into service planning and evaluation of service changes.
  8. Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.

This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2020_017.  All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy.

OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
