- Registration as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with substantial pharmacy experience which demonstrates ability to fulfil the criteria for Grade 2 Pharmacist in accordance with the Health Employees’ Pharmacists (State) Award. Highly Desirable: Project management, quality improvements and/or research experience; The Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) membership (or similar); Current Driver’s license.
- Demonstrated high level competence, expertise, skills and ability to apply clinical judgement in the provision of hospital pharmacy services, including the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), Special Access Scheme (SAS) and the principles of formulary management and the quality use of medicines.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills, including the ability to delegate and prioritise work, coordinate workflow and assist with activities to improve service provision.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with patients and colleagues in the multidisciplinary setting; showing commitment to building and maintaining effective working relationships and empowering patients to understand medicines, to enable them to become an active member of their own healthcare team.
- Proven problem-solving and clinical decision making skills commensurate with Grade 2 classification, necessary to achieve desired outcomes in a busy changeable environment.
- Demonstrated experience in education, mentoring and training, as well as demonstrated ability to impart knowledge and skills to the pharmacy team, students and other healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision for, and appropriate feedback to, both registered and unregistered dispensary team members.
- Demonstrated commitment to work, health and safety (WH&S), the positive patient experience and displaying behaviour consistent with NSW Health’s values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
