Social Worker or Psychologist - Violence, Abuse and Neglect

Selection Criteria

• Tertiary Qualification in Social Work, Social Science or Social Welfare or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer with counselling experience.

• Eligibility for membership of the recognised professional association and meet the criteria for Level 3 as per the NSW Health Service Health Professional (State) Award or registration with Australian Health Practitioners regulation agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist.

• Demonstrated clinical knowledge of trauma theory and practice, crisis intervention and contemporary intervention skills appropriate for sexual assault and/or domestic violence victims together with a commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence based practice.

• Demonstrated high level communication skills and negotiation skills (written, electronic and oral).

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, as a member of a multidisciplinary team, prioritise and manage a caseload.

• Demonstrated knowledge of service delivery under primary health care principles and practice within a rural/ remote context.

• Provision of support to counsellors, medical officers and Police and capacity to provide guidance and support to sexual assault on call workers.

• Evidence of current drivers licence and ability to travel as part of the role.
