About the Opportunity
Liverpool Hospital is recruiting for a Senior Pharmacist to play a key role in clinical trials. Liverpool Hospital has a wide range of clinical trials, from phase one trials in a wide range of speciality areas where you’ll have the opportunity to work in a team of clinical trials pharmacists and technicians.

 

What You'll be Doing
To manage, develop and provide a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to the Hematology outpatients of Liverpool Hospital. This includes operational oversight of the service to ensure staff are adequately trained, policies and legislation are adhered to and that there is a focus on high quality and safe medication management.  General leadership, clinical and/or dispensary pharmacy duties may be required by the Director of Pharmacy as part of the role.  The pharmacy has responsibility for providing a comprehensive clinical service to ensure safe, effective, outcome based and customer focused care to the patients of the hospital.

 

Where You'll Be Working 
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

  1. Current full and unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Pharmacist with at least 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience with extensive clinical pharmacy skills and experience in Oncology/Haematology. This may include postgraduate study in this area, detailed knowledge of Oncology/Haematology medicines including PBS criteria, membership of a relevant professional organisation and willingness to undertake further training.
  2. Tell us about a time you assessed the feasibility and suitability of a clinical trial. What things did you consider and what was the outcome.
  3. Describe a time you had to negotiate with multiple stakeholders and seek consensus to achieve an outcome. Explain your role and how you navigated the situation
  4. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
