Selection Criteria
- Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Professionals (State) Award with a Bachelor’s Degree, current HGSA membership and HGSA Board Eligible with a minimum of Part 1 in Genetic Counselling certification, attainment of Part 2 preferable.
- Extensive postgraduate counselling experience in a prenatal setting
- Computer skills / database experience including Trakgene or similar
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders throughout all organisational levels.
- Extensive ability to work effectively within the multidisciplinary team, prioritise workload and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgment when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Infection Control and Work Health & Safety principles
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical support and supervision to other health professionals, technical and support staff.
