- Demonstrated superior level of clinical knowledge and ability to work autonomously across full range of clinical specialities within a complex organisation.
- Evidence of competencies for Advanced Clinical Coder as specified in the HIMAA Clinical Coder National Competency Standards and Assessment Guide -Advanced Clinical Coder or similar clinical coding qualification together with current industry experience for a minimum of 5 years full time employment (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in using and teaching the use of a Patient Administration System (eg. Cerner/iPM) and 3M Codefinder software and other coding resource materials
- Superior understanding of DRG's and Activity Based Funding and demonstrated ability to produce accurate highly complex coded clinical data whilst meeting throughput targets.
- Well developed organisational, communication and problem solving skills together with extensive experience in communicating with clinicians relating to clinical coding matters together with demonstrated application of privacy and confidentiality in the healthcare setting
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, establish priorities and display strong interpersonal skills as an effective member and mentor of the Clinical Coding Team
