- Evidence of competencies for Senior Clinical Coder as specified in the HIMAA Clinical Coder National Competency Standards and Assessment Guide Intermediate Clinical Coding Level or other equivalent clinical coding qualification.
- Demonstrated experience using a Patient Administration System (eg. Cerner/iPM) and 3M Codefinder software and other coding resource materials
- Comprehensive understanding of DRG's and Activity Based Funding and demonstrated ability to produce accurately complex coded clinical data whilst meeting throughput targets.
- Advanced organisational, communication and problem solving skills with experience in communication with clinicians relating to clinical coding matters
- Demonstrated advanced level of clinical knowledge and ability to work autonomously across full range of clinical specialities, meet deadlines, establish priorities and display excellent interpersonal skills as an effective member of a team.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of privacy and confidentiality in the healthcare setting
