SCHN Clinical Coder

Completion of coding qualifications in ICD-10-AM (either Health Information Management Association HIMAA Coding Course of Australia or OTEN Coding Clinical Classification course).

Demonstrated experience in coding accurate morbidity and procedural classifications to episodes of care using with ICD-10-AM, ACHI and Australian Coding Standards (minimum 2 years).

Demonstrated experience coding across a range of DRG's within a tertiary health care facility.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills, in order to liaise with clinical staff, managers and the coding team in relation to clinical coding

Demonstrated advanced computer skills in a range of systems, including Microsoft office applications, healthcare information systems 3M Codefinder software and Performance Indicator Coding Quality (PICQ) tool.

Demonstrated experience in completing Performance Indicators Coding Quality (PICQ), HIE and error DRG resolution, to improve coding quality.

Understanding of Activity Based Management, Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) assignment.
