About Us

Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team working in the Critical Care Hub. In this role, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team, contributing to the planning, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of patient care through effective communication and teamwork.

You will act as an advocate for the diverse needs of all patients and carers, including those from Indigenous and multicultural backgrounds, ensuring culturally sensitive and appropriate care is provided, particularly during specialised procedures. Your professional practice will reflect high ethical standards and compliance with the policies and procedures of the Nursing Service, NBMLHD, and relevant legislation and statutory regulations.

As a valued team member, you will provide support, clinical preceptorship, and mentoring to staff and students, fostering a positive learning environment. You will also be responsible for the effective management of resources relevant to the service, contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of care.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Current registration as Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA
  2. Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in critical care nursing as a registered nurse (including completion of a new graduate program or equivalent experience working as a registered nurse)
  3. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload
  4. Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care
  5. Demonstrated effective communication skills - written and verbal
  6. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and evidenced based practice
  7. Ability to work a 7 day rotating roster including day, evening and night shift according to the unit/service requirements
