  1. Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (division 1) and relevant tertiary qualification in Management (or willingness to commence within 12 months of appointment) and/ or extensive experience in the clinical setting.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of leadership, and experience with self-directed work, projects management, change management and achieving timely results.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of practice development methodologies that support patient centred and practice improvement initiatives within the workplace.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues relating to nursing/ midwifery professional practice.
  5. Demonstrated highly developed information technology, communication and interpersonal skills including facilitation and presentation skills, coaching, conflict resolution, and the ability to write reports of a high standard, and to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health professionals.
  6. Understanding of and commitment to the effective and meaningful engagement of clinicians in the decision making process that impacts on positive patient outcomes
  7. Demonstrated ability to lead the development of policies and practices, including requirements of the National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards.
  8. Demonstrated understanding and experience of improving patient safety and reliability of care using the Living Well Together Framework and Essentials of Care program.
