As a Child Life Therapist you will be a part of the paediatric Team based at our state-of-the-art Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and be supported by a team of fabulous paediatric team within the department.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Child Life Therapist to join our team to provide a comprehensive service to our community. 
As the Child Life Therapist will provide high quality family centred clinical services to inpatients and/or outpatients referred to Child Life Therapy. 
You will utilise specialist knowledge to plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate therapeutic and medical play, procedural education & support, to reduce anxiety through teaching coping strategies and distraction, and to maintain and extend developmental milestones where possible.

About You

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate: 

  • Hold a bachelor of early childhood, primary teaching or a related field that includes two years study in child development, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer
  •  Knowledge, skills, clinical experience and ability in Child Life Therapist practice to provide patient-centred, evidence-based Child Life Therapy services across a range of clinical areas
  • The ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • High level of communication skills and organisation skills
