  1. Understanding of and commitment to consumer led recovery principles with the ability to utilise personal lived and living experience to constructively support others with their own mental health journey.
  2. Ability to utilise the lived experience of suicide to support others with their own mental health recovery journey, whilst drawing on effective strategies to maintain wellness.
  3. Demonstrated ability to advocate for an individual and at a systems level to improve access to quality mental health services for consumers.
  4. Completion of or willingness to undertake Certificate IV Peer Work – Mental Health qualification.
  5. Demonstrated sound written and verbal communication skills, and computer literacy with the ability to use relevant software programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook).
  6. Good organisational and planning skills to organise one's own daily work
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and actively contribute to the further development of MNCLHD Peer Services and broader Peer Workforce.
  8. Hold a current Driver’s License valid within Australia and ability to travel and work across different locations as required.
